About Catherina

Catherina O’Sullivan from Killorglin, is married to Michael and is a proud mother of six children. She is a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager in Mental Health and will be fearless advocate for her community. Now, she is stepping into the political arena as a candidate for Aontú in the Kenmare Local Electoral Area (LEA), bringing a fresh and fearless approach to local politics.

Catherina's journey into politics was sparked by the family referendum, where she led the Kerry group advocating for a No/No vote. She stood strong with Aontú, the only party that defended families and carers against the government's attempt to erase the word 'mother' from our constitution. Her fearless campaign against these referendums demonstrated her commitment to defend the interests of her community and listen to their concerns.

As a resident of Killorglin, Catherina is acutely aware of the many issues facing the locals of the town. These include housing, health, antisocial behaviour, and the closure of small businesses. She is dedicated to addressing these issues, understanding their detrimental impact not only on the locals but also on the tourists who visit Killorglin.

Catherina is deeply concerned about the cost-of-living crisis affecting her community. She supports Aontú's commitment to cut VAT, excise, and carbon tax on fuel and energy during this crisis. She also shares Aontú's belief in a compassionate and common-sense approach to immigration, advocating for a system that quickly and efficiently differentiates between those who need help and those who don't.

Catherina is committed to representing the people of Kenmare LEA and bringing about the change she believes is necessary for her community. She stands with Aontú in opposing the Green Party’s Climate Bill, which has led to increased Carbon Tax and exceptionally high costs for petrol, diesel, and electricity. She believes in the right of communities to have a say in what happens in their area and is committed to holding the government accountable.

Catherina's campaign is not just about politics, but about restoring a sense of community and common sense to governance. She believes that Killorglin, a beautiful town, is in need of government investment to continue to flourish. As part of Aontú, the party of common sense, Catherina will continue to listen to your concerns, defend your interests, and work tirelessly for the betterment of her community.
