**Catherina O’Sullivan Announces Candidacy for Aontú in Kenmare Local Electoral Area**
Catherina O’Sullivan, a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager in Mental Health and a fearless advocate for her community, has officially announced her candidacy for Aontú in the Kenmare Local Electoral Area (LEA). The announcement was made at an Aontú meeting in Listowel on Monday night.
Catherina, a resident of Killorglin, is married to Michael and a proud mother of six and is committed to addressing the many issues facing her area, including housing, health, antisocial behaviour, and the closure of small businesses. Her journey into politics was ignited by the recent referendum, where she led the Kerry group advocating for a No/No vote. She stood strong with Aontú, the only party that defended families and carers against the government's attempt to erase the word 'mother' from our constitution. This campaign demonstrated her commitment to defend the interests of her community and listen to their concerns.
She is deeply concerned about the cost-of-living crisis affecting her community and supports Aontú's commitment to cut VAT, excise, and carbon tax on fuel and energy during this crisis.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Cáit Ní Ríordáin from Castleisland LEA, Sonny Foran from Listowel LEA, Patrick Murphy, the Ireland South European Elections Candidate, and party leader Peadar Tóibín.
Party leader Peadar Tóibín expressed his support for Catherina, stating, "Catherina O’Sullivan embodies the values and commitments of Aontú. Her dedication to her community, her fearless advocacy, and her commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing her town make her an excellent candidate for the Kenmare LEA. We are proud to have her as part of our team and look forward to her contributions."
Catherina's campaign is not just about politics, but about restoring a sense of community and common sense to governance. She believes that South Kerry is in need of government investment to continue to flourish. As part of Aontú, the party of common sense, Catherina will continue to listen to the concerns of her constituents, defend their interests, and work tirelessly for the betterment of her community.
